Costa Del Azahar
A 120 km coastline from Tarragona to Valencia along the Mediterranean Sea.
Castellon de la Palma is the northern province of Levante.
In the back of the coast you will find a beautiful landscape, the tableland
of Maestrazgo with the peak Penalogosa. Vinaros, Benicarlo, Alcoceber,
Torreblanca, Oropesa del Mar, Benicassim, Almazora, Nules and Monocofa are smaller
villages with beautiful sand beaches.
Morella, Onda, Benasal, Eslida, Segorbe, Viver, Vilafames and Sant Mateu give
you an impression of the beauty in the centre of this area.
Castellon, the capitol
of this province, is a quit, but modern city at the Mediterranean Sea.
In the province Castellon are located excellent touristcenters and the beautiful “Orange
flower Coast “ called Costa del Azahar – a coastlines, which will
give you unforgettable memories.
The nearest airports are
Barcelona, in the north about 200 km motorway, and Valencia, located in
the south about 140 km motorway. In Peniscola / Benicarlo
and Vinaros you find the next intercity railway stations.
The relative long distance to the airports keeps a lot of tourists away from
this area.
Vinaros
A typical fishing-village surrounded by large plants of orange. Vinaros got
about 20.000 residents and is located directly at the Mediterranean Sea between
Tarragona and Castellon.
A one kilometre long beach belongs to Vinaros. Along the coastline you
find a lot of romantic bays including several vacation resorts or flats in
the back area.
There are excellent restaurants in Vinaros with typical dishes like: Fish,
Zarzuella, Paella, Langostinos and much more, even the lovers of steaks and
beef will find a lot of rustically native places in the back land.
There is no mass tourism in Vinaros at all – that’s a rare exception
at the Mediterranean coast.Carnival in February/March
is a great event in Spain and the one in Vinaros is similar to carnival in
Rio de Janeiro and also generally known all over the Spanish country.
Spain’s unique directly by the sea bullfighting arena
is located in Vinaros.
Climate and cost of living near Vinaros
In the east of Spain the winter
is soft ( about 17 degrees Celsius by day ) and the summer is warm.
You won’t find any central heating or radiators in the resident houses,
but even in the vacation resorts, flats and houses more and more heatings
will be installed for the comfort during the winter.
Comparing with England is the costs of living about 50-60 %.
You find several shopping malls in the city of Vinaros, with a complete European
offer and typical Spanish food.
